Composite Materials

There are a large number of products made from composite materials not just fibreglass itself.

There are all kinds of fillers and pressure systems that give different results for different applications,

for bumpers they are generally laid in a mould using a chopper gun. This is a fast and cost effective

way to manufacture fibreglass bumpers.

The negative to this method of manufacture is that there is often more resin than matting in the article

and as a result it becomes brittle, heavy and easily cracked.

You can generally tell the quality of the article by the material to resin ratio.
